Guided Walk: Orangihina Park - Ecofest

Explore the taonga of Harbourview-Orangihina Park in Te Atatū Peninsula!

Discover rare ecosystems, understand their significance, and the inspiring efforts of community groups protecting and restoring them. From lush wetlands to delicate chenier plains, learn how these habitats are under threat and what’s being done to try and safeguard them.

We’ll begin our guided walk with a karakia and introductions to set the tone for the journey. From there, we’ll visit seven locations, where you’ll have the chance to ask pātai, join in on demonstrations, and hear from local community members about their incredible efforts and kōrero. We’ll finish where we started to enjoy a kai and drinks to wrap up the experience.
