About the event

Join us to discover what nocturnal creatures live in the rare ecosystems on your door step through a guided red light tour through Ōrangihina South (Gloria Ave) at night. We will be walking through the reserve looking for nocturnal insects such as wētā and spiders, and spotlighting two streams to try to discover ika/fish (Banded Kōkopu) while talking about the importance of restoring greenspaces within urban areas. We will end the walk with a talk about the whetū (stars), while warming up with some hot drinks and snacks.

See a side of your local reserve that you've never seen before by joining us for this guided night time walk.

Bring along comfortable walking shoes, warm clothing, and a red head torch if you have one.
